The rules, in plain English.

These terms govern your use of theHRkey (the "Service") at thehrkey.com and any related services we provide. The Service is operated by Ali Akeel, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or using the Service you ("you", "your") agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
1 · Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a contract. By registering you confirm the information you give is accurate and that you have the right to share any data you upload (including a CV).
2 · Your account
- One account per person. Don't share your password.
- You're responsible for activity carried out from your account.
- If you think your account has been compromised, email info@thehrkey.com immediately.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms or that has been inactive for over 24 months.
3 · What the Service does
theHRkey is an AI-native HR and resourcing practice. We provide, among other things:
- A live job feed (free to browse).
- An AI-driven matching tool that scores your CV against live roles.
- A tailored-application kit (paid) that produces a CV and cover letter for a specific role.
- Fractional HR, recruitment-as-a-service and project resourcing for employers (engaged separately).

4 · No guaranteed outcomes
We work hard but we cannot guarantee that you will get a job, find a candidate, secure a particular salary, win an interview, or receive an offer. AI matching is a guide, not a contract.
5 · Candidate-side specific
- You retain all rights in your CV and personal data. You grant us a limited licence to process them solely to operate the Service for you.
- Your CV is shared with a specific employer only after you click Apply for that role — never speculatively.
- You can delete your CV (and your whole account) at any time from your account page; we'll remove it from our active stores within 14 days.
6 · Employer / Contracts-client specific
- If you engage us for HR retainer, recruitment-as-a-service, contract placement or any other paid service, a separate engagement letter or statement of work will govern fees, scope, IR35 status (where relevant), notice periods and ownership of work product.
- You agree not to approach a candidate we introduced for at least 12 months after the introduction except through us; doing so triggers our standard introduction fee.
- We don't take responsibility for the conduct, employment decisions, or post-hire performance of candidates we introduce.
7 · Fees and payment
Indicative prices for catalogue items are on the services page. Final scope, prices and payment terms are agreed in writing before work starts. Paid candidate features (e.g. the tailored application kit) are stated at checkout. All prices are in GBP and exclude VAT where applicable.
8 · Acceptable use
Don't use the Service to:
- Upload someone else's CV without their permission.
- Spam employers or candidates.
- Probe, scrape, reverse-engineer or otherwise interfere with the Service.
- Submit unlawful, discriminatory, or knowingly false information.
- Use the Service for any purpose other than its stated purpose.
9 · Intellectual property
All site content, branding, copy, software, AI prompts, classification taxonomies and pipelines are owned by us or licensed to us. You may not copy, redistribute, or train other AI systems on them without written consent.
10 · Data & privacy
How we handle your data is set out in the Privacy Policy. By using the Service you also agree to that policy. We comply with the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
11 · Third-party content and links
Roles in the live feed are sourced from third-party job boards and direct employer feeds. We don't author or verify those listings. Following an apply link takes you to the third party's site, where their terms apply.
12 · AI-generated content
Some content (chat answers, classifications, tailored CVs, cover letters) is generated by AI based on inputs you provide. You're responsible for reviewing AI-generated content before relying on it or sending it to a third party.
13 · Liability
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Subject to that:
- The Service is provided "as is" without warranties beyond those required by law.
- We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or loss-of-profit damages.
- Our total liability for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, or £100, whichever is greater.
14 · Indemnity
You indemnify us against claims arising from your breach of these terms, your unlawful use of the Service, or content you submit to it.
15 · Termination
You can delete your account at any time from the account page. We can suspend or terminate accounts that breach these terms. Sections that should reasonably survive termination (intellectual property, liability, governing law) survive.
16 · Changes to these terms
If we make material changes we'll flag them on the homepage for at least 14 days and email registered users. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the new terms.
17 · Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales. Any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

Acceptance of these terms is recorded on your account with the version number and timestamp. You can request a copy of your consent record at any time.
